Don't rush into starting your online business

Don't feel you need to rush into starting a online business - or in fact any business. You should take your time to research into the field you intend on operating in.

Take your time and think of a good catchy name for your business, search to see if the domain name is available - if it is I would recommend purchasing it ASAP as your first step into the online world.

Thousands and thousands of domains are registered daily, so in reality it's only a matter of time before you or someone else registers it.

To be successful you need an edge over your nearest rivals. Spend time researching into rival businesses and see how they operate. Buy something from their site to see how they do it, call their customer service number or email them and see how quickly they respond - always aim to be better than them.

Importantly do not write anything bad about them - while it may seem like good business to put your rivals down your probably find yourself in hot water before you know it!

If you intend on going to your bank for a start up loan, your need to do your home work before hand. Your bank will need a business plan and will run through it with you. Even if you're not going to a bank to borrow money it's a good idea to complete a business plan - it will help you set out your key goals and help you move forward.
